Joe Jemsek Course # 2

The Joe Jemsek course (formerly the Lakewood course), designed and built in 1929 by E.B. Dearie, Jr. is an 18-hole championship course, which offers a more hilly terrain than that of the St. Andrews course. This course perfectly blends with the environment and showcases two scenic finishing holes with approaches over water.

The Joe Jemsek course demands carefully planned tee shots when dealing with the long, difficult par 3's. This is especially true considering the 2nd hole, which measures 216 yards from the tips and it's green is guarded by two deep bunkers and towering trees. This course measures 6,770 yards from the championship tees, challenging any avid golfer not only by it's length, but also by it's tree lined fairways and strategically placed sand bunkers.

Architects Joe Lee and Rockey Roqemore of Atlanta have made modifications to St. Andrews over the years to modernize the course to today's standards, but the integrity of the original design still stands.
